Chain Clean & Wax

Degreasing, cleaning and waxing of your chain.

We fully degrease your chain in our ultrasonic cleaner using our mild citrus degreaser, before air drying and then preparing for waxing using Slip Systems Slip Wax. We even go so far as to remove the wax from any hollow pins, like you can see in the photo here.

How it works:

1) We send you a pre-paid postage bag for you to send us your dirty chain.

2) You return your chain to us and we clean and wax it (more about this below).

3) We send you your own amazing, refurbished chain back.

4) You reinstall it and ride like never before.

Our cleaning and waxing has a multi-stage process that ensures the best for your chain and lets you know what shape it's in.

First, we clean off the surface dirt with Slip Systems Formulation 12 Degreaser.

Next, we measure chain wear using a Park Tools CC-4 chain checker. We will advise you of any wear in your chain so that you can take timely steps to replace it before it stretches and prematurely wears your rear cassette.

The next stage is an ultrasonic cleaning bath with citrus degreaser at a 1:10 concentration to ensure gentle cleaning. We will run the chain through the bath twice if your chain is extra dirty.

Finally, before the waxing stage we double rinse and dry: once in water to remove any citrus residue, and then once in methylated spirit to remove the last contaminants to ensure the best wax adhesion.

Please note that you are responsible for the removal and re-installation of your chain. Price is per chain.
